The Journey of KKR in IPL 5

With the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir team KKR won the IPL 5. The tournament started on 4^th April, 2012 and the final match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders played on 27^th May 2012. The journey of KKR for this session was tremendously eventful comparing to the previous years. The change in leadership along with consistent success in the early matches focused the performance of the team of Kolkata.

Great suspense was created to see the result of the match played in Eden Gardens, Kolkata, between Pune Warriors and Kolkta Knight Riders. The match became significant not only in terms of point benefits but for other reason. Saurav Ganguly being the former captain of KKR and as hails from Kolkata, when played against the home team KKR became a match of importance. At the end of the match KKR won the match and became one step nearer to the final match.

All the happenings, occurred during IPL 5 with KKR were really enjoyable to the team members as well as the supporters of the team. Above all the victories, one after another, made SRK most happy. The point system was though shows ups and downs after every game still, KKR occupied one of the topmost positions in the chart. This was a good indicator to the team and inspired to win more matches. The skipper, Gambhir played important innings whenever required to win the matches.

In IPL 5, KKR became the first team to confirm the final match. On the other hand, team Chennai, with the captainship of M.S. Dhoni prepared themselves for the IPL final. It was a big day for both IPL and KKR. The victory accompanied Gambhir and for the first time in the five sessions of IPL matches, KKR won the IPL trophy.

Felicitation from the CM of West Bengal admired the KKR team members. The crowd from every part of West Bengal celebrated the victory of IPL 5. The participation of the supporters from different fields of life in the celebration of the victory glorified the tournament as well as the performance of KKR in IPL 5.
